Validation and Verification Test Cases

This document contains links to a number of verification or validation test cases. A validation test case involves comparison to experimental data while a verification test case involves comparison to analytical (exact) data.

All the tests were performed using the full version of EasyFlowfield. EasyFlowfield Basic only allows use of a single-block Cartesian grid (uniform or nonuniform) or an o-grid. The Cartesian grid can be used to simulate flow in one-dimension, in a rectangular region, or in a cuboid region. In contrast to the full version, EasyFlowfield Basic does not allow export or import of grids. Thus, EasyFlowfield Basic cannot perform the nozzle, M6 wing, bump, and step tests. It can perform the airfoil tests using an o-grid exactly as described. EasyFlowfield Basic can perform equivalent pipe and plate validation tests using a single-block simple rectangular Cartesian grid with the leading edge of the plate upstream of the origin. This is illustrated using the file turb_plate_omega_basic.script which is one of the sample simulations included with the EasyFlowfield simulation codes.
